What type of luxury items are you looking for?
We are looking for the highest quality consignment items we can find. Brands we seek and which sell well are Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Alexander McQueen, Loro Piana, Givenchy, Prada, Missoni, Fendi, Valentino, Cartier, and so many more. What sells the best?
Anything from Louis Vuitton and Chanel sell extremely fast, particularly since we also sell on ebay and have a global audience for your items.
Do you consign luxury vintage items?
Yes, we consign vintage clothing and accessory items, when they are really special or interesting. We have successfully sold vintage Halston dresses from the 1970s, items by Geoffrey Beane, Fendi and Missoni, to name a few. They need to be in great condition. They need to be interesting. Editorial. Iconic. If you are unsure, please bring in what you have and we will evaluate them on the spot.
Do you work with estates, since you take luxury vintage items?
Yes, we will work with estates. We will gladly travel to the estate to evaluate what you have and determine what we live we can sell. We will, in special cases, offer to purchase outright from estates.
Do you consign items out of season?
We consign items from all seasons at all times since we sell to a global client base online via ebay in addition to our storefront in Pasadena, California. Temperatures are hot year round here so we are always looking for light weight / Summer / Beach appropriate items. We are more selective accepting cold weather items out of season, but we still accept them and sell them year round!
Do you take women's and men's items?
Women's clothing, shoes and accessories (belts, scarves, fashion jewelry, hats, gloves) is our primary focus, but we are growing a selection of men's clothing, so we are selectively looking for those items. We also take high end lingerie as long as it's it new with tags or new and never worn.
Do you consign fine jewelry?
Yes. We also consign semi-prescious jewelry such as sterling silver with or without stones and pearls.
Is there a minimum number of items I need to bring to start consigning?
There is no minimum requirement to start an account. We just need one (1) amazing item from you to get started.
How should I prepare the items I bring to you?
Clothing Items should be clean and on hangers. Shoes, jewelry, accessories and other items that are unable to be hung should be in shopping bags. All shoes should come with their original box and dust bags, if you still have those items. Packaging, original tags, receipts, branded boxes/hanging bags - all of these extra items help with sales. Be sure the check your items in the collars and under the arms for stains, as these go sometimes unnoticed at first glance. Please ensure items are stain free.
What condition would the items I wish to consign be in?
The better the condition of your item, the more likely we will accept it for consignment and it will sell. Clothing should be in excellent condition or like new or new. We are more concerned with condition and style than age. Many items from 20 years ago could easily be purchased in the store today Consider our store "modern vintage."
Shoes in particular should be new or like new - if you can see toe prints, we will be unable to take them on consignment. If you are unsure of something, please just bring it with you and we will decide on the spot if we will consign the item.
Do I need to make an appointment?
While appointments are appreciated, we will evaluate your items at any time during operating hours. We will also come to your home to evaluate your items, if you have a large number for consideration or a special situation. We also travel to where the items are where estates are concerned.
How long will you keep my items on consignment?
Luxury items will be consigned for six (6) months, with offers to extend, for very special pieces. For this reason, we are extra selective in what we will take on consignment.
What is your consignment fee?
As of 6/15/17, our consignment fees are based on a 40/60 consignment split, where the consignor receives 40% of the final selling price and we retain 60% for items which sell at $999 or under. We offer a 50/50 consignment split on items selling for $1,000 or more.
Do you buy items outright?
We buy Chanel and Louis Vuitton handbags, travel bags, luggage, accessories and jewelry (selectively clothing or shoes) outright, depending on style, condition, scarcity, desirability. While we generally negotiate on the price, items are purchased outright around 30-35% of the price at which we would try to sell. You will receive less money than you would if we consigned and sold the item for you, since we are taking on the risk that the inventory will sell.
We occasionally will make offers to purchase other items, besides Chanel and Louis Vuitton, if we feel sure we can sell it. We happily consign items for which an offer to purchase is not accepted.
You will need to bring in your purchase receipts for Chanel and Louis Vuitton items you wish to sell or consign. These boutiques maintain a customer database which allows them the ability to reprint a purchase receipt for your item, even it if is years old. Generally you will need to go in person to the store/boutique where you purchase the item in order to get your receipt. All dust bags, packaging, brand tags will also help us to make decisions on purchasing/consigning your luxury items. If you do not have a receipt, but have authenticity cards and other packaging, please go ahead and bring those in and we can decide on next steps.
What happens if you pass on some or all of my items?
We will gladly refer you to other consignment shops in the Pasadena area who may be interested in consigning your items. We have a particular look and feel we are seeking which will be evident when you come to our store. We know what we can sell and let that be our guide. We can also refer you to charity shops close by where you can drop off un-consigned items.
Do you accept consignment items from out of town/state consignors?
Yes. We work with consignors coast to coast and you can mail your items to us. For mailed in items, we ask for photos and descriptions of what you have for sale to determine the best items to send to us. We cover the shipping costs. Mail-in options require a minimum number of pieces, pre-approved and high price valuations on single items.
